Questions, answered
Everything about trials, encryption and keys. Still unsure? Start the free trial and look around.
Start a subscription from the Billing page at any point during the 14 days. If you don't, everything keeps working for a 7-day grace period, then the organization becomes read-only: incoming mail is still delivered and readable, but sending pauses until you subscribe.
Transactional email includes 50,000 emails a month and marketing includes 10,000 contacts. Anything above is added to the next monthly invoice at the overage rate shown; the dashboard shows your usage and a projection as you go.
No. Messages are encrypted to your mailbox key the moment they arrive, and private keys are only ever unlocked in your browser or mail client. We store ciphertext.
Every mailbox key is also shared with your organization's owners and admins. If an employee forgets their password, an admin resets it from the Members page; the employee creates a new key at their next sign-in and an admin's browser shares the mailbox keys with it again, so their mail stays readable. When someone leaves, an admin hands their mailbox to a colleague and removes the account. Owners and admins never learn anyone's password, and we never hold the keys.
Yes. Changing your password in the webmail or dashboard re-locks your key with the new password in your browser, so nothing needs to be re-shared. Only a reset through a forgotten-password email creates a new key.
Yes. Calendars follow the mailbox's encryption mode: for end-to-end mailboxes your browser encrypts each event before it is saved, and only the times needed for free/busy, booking pages and reminders stay readable. Booking pages and calendars are part of the base plan.
Every "spam" or "not spam" your team chooses is one vote for your organization. A sender only goes to Spam for everyone after several organizations report it, and a sender's domain only counts when the mail really came from that domain. If your team marks a filtered sender as not spam, your organization gets its mail in the inbox again.
Every organization starts with 10 GB shared by all mailboxes. Owners and admins can cap individual mailboxes so one inbox never consumes the whole pool.
Most teams do not. Shared IPs are monitored and warmed. Dedicated IPs make sense once you send consistent volume and want full control of your reputation.
The setup wizard has step-by-step guides for Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Name.com, Namecheap, Amazon Route 53 and DigitalOcean, and generic instructions for everyone else.
